The Senior Manager of Communications will play a significant role in developing communications initiatives across the association and will be responsible for designing and executing an integrated communications program for ACCA. This includes efforts to engage a variety of audiences including members, the trade channel, consumers, and in support of federal/state advocacy.
Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-7 years experience working in a communications department. Prior experience within a trade association or on Capitol Hill is a plus. We are looking for a candidate with significant experience managing social media. Ability to develop and articulate a vision for ACCA’s communications is strongly desired.

Primary Responsibilities
Develop vision and direction for ACCA’s communications, with emphasis on member and trade channel communications.
Develop and implement integrated communications plan to strengthen ACCA’s brand, add member-value, and support advocacy efforts.
Manage social media program, including but not limited to, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and ACCA blog. Includes strategy, metrics/assessment, content creation/curation, and managing posting schedule.
Manage external communications including trade channel media relations and drafting media releases, key messages, op-eds, pitch letters, fact sheets and social media posts.
Maintain current media database.
Manage member communications including ACCA blog, and weekly member communications.
Manage ACCA’s website, including generating and curating content.
Support industry messaging through the development of media toolkit, including stories, opinion pieces for member use in traditional and social media.
Monitor, measure and assess the effectiveness of communications including producing reports for management.
Experience, Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Excellent written communications skills for a variety of media (blog, website, social media, and media outlets).
Demonstrated use of various technologies including social media platforms, MS office, and content management systems.
Superior proof-reading skills.
Demonstrated experience using analytics to inform and improve campaign performance.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in communications, social media, marketing and/or other relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or related field.
Association experience desired, but not required.
Capitol Hill or advocacy experience desired.
Ability to self-direct work, manage to budget and establish priorities.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire trust, motivation, and confidence with internal and external stakeholders.
