NRF is seeking a Meetings/Special Events Planner to support all activities related to all NRF conventions, conferences and meetings; lead planner of logistics and operations for specific NRF events
The successful candidate will possess intellectual curiosity, embrace open collaboration, and take an energetic approach to fulfilling our mission.
Develops, coordinates, and manages logistics for NRF events
Serves as back-up to Meetings team; ensures efficient meeting planning and execution of events ranging from 100 – 30,000; serves as lead planner on specific, smaller events
Researches and sources venues; participates in negotiation process
Assists in creating RFPs; tracks and compiles responses for further review
Creates and updates event specifications to include room sets, food and beverage, A/V, and other event logistics
Works on floor plans and room diagrams
Maintains communication with vendors and supplier
Assists with updating staff and exhibitor forms
Provides on-site meetings support to staff, vendors and suppliers for all meeting elements
Reconciles and processes event invoices; manages components of event budgets
Performs other duties as assigned
A minimum of one year meeting planning experience in a meetings/events environment, preferably for a nonprofit organization
Strong attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities, and adapt quickly to changing priorities
Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work creatively as part of a team or individually.
Proficiency with Microsoft® Office applications and database manipulation
Evening and weekend work required occasionally
