Provides programmatic and administrative support to the Center for Strategy and Partnerships, with an emphasis on team coordination, data and web content support, and member and partner engagement. Coordinates digital engagement of member groups, private sector partners, and state municipal leagues. Handles team-wide logistics and internal communications. Facilitates content, promotion and advertising, the NLC Career Center, and other activities, as needed.
Ideal position for an organized self-starter who possesses an entrepreneurial mindset, customer service skills, and an interest in local government. Reports to and provides modest administrative support to the Senior Executive and Director, Strategy and Partnerships.
Examples of Work
Develops and maintains member and partner engagement information in association database, and coordinates reporting and analysis
Coordinates creation and support of online member communities
Organizes and updates team web pages with a focus on quality control
Assists in planning and execution of content and member marketing
Coordinates advertising and the NLC Career Center
Assists with planning, logistics and implementation of NLC conferences
Coordinates and supports limited online survey research of members
Coordinates meeting logistics and agenda preparation
Maintains team calendars of events and activities
Communicates with colleagues, members and partners in person and by phone, videoconference, webinar and email
Provides occasional scheduling, travel, financial, and communications support for the Director
Maintains digital files and manages department public spaces, as needed
Other duties as assigned. Some travel required.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in public policy, business administration, or related field; 2-3 years’ experience required, preferably in the association or non-profit arena, or a combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Ability to effectively interact with internal and external audiences. Ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff and in a team environment within and across departments
Demonstrated technology skills, including Microsoft Office, databases, digital engagement tools, web content management, and social media
Accuracy in work products; knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, grammar and proofreading skills
Experience with basic financial management, including invoicing and record keeping, is helpful but not required
Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and ask for guidance when needed
