Great Dane has an opening for a Marketing Events Specialistat our Savannah, GA division offices.
Reporting to the Marketing Meetings & Conferences Manager, the Marketing Events Specialist is responsible for maintaining and/or assisting in the planning, organizing and execution of marketing event programs to support informed management decisions throughout the company. The Specialist will work with both internal personnel and external vendors.
This position is physically located in Savannah, GA.
Supports planning and execution for trade shows, special events, conferences and meetings
Maintains and updates global events calendar as needed
Researches, solicits and contracts special event venues as needed
Makes & updates hotel and travel arrangements as needed for staff and/or attendees
Assists in design conception and execution of event materials as needed such as thank you cards, room drop cards, etc.
Assists in providing event communication and information to staff, attendees & sponsors as needed
Assists in coordination of trade show booth elements such as layouts, renderings, carpeting, electrical plans, etc.
Coordinates cross-functionally to support or convey brand initiatives, social media, content development and other event support needs.
Assists in managing pre- and on-site registration for events and programs (utilizing event management systems, , generating reports and producing attendee badges)
Conducts research and reporting as needed
Attends & contributes ideas to event planning meetings
Requests event vendor proposals and coordinates receipt of all responses in an organized manner
Reviews BEOs and creates set-ups for each event to distribute to event vendors
Identify and execute all processes that are replicable to generate SOPs, templates and forms appropriate to ensure similar events and tasks are created and executed in a similar fashion
Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Events Management, Marketing, Business, Communications or a related field.
Skills and Specifications: • Has a Bachelor’s degree in event management, marketing, business, communications or related field and minimum 3-5 years’ experience in planning events. • Experience creating marketing materials such as collateral, banners, cards, invitations and other event materials • Excellent organization, time management and planning skills • Professional and polished demeanor verbal and written when dealing with events communications • Possess skills in project management • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in high-stress environment to meet project deadlines and ensure a high level of attention to detail • Highly self-motivated individual who works well independently and in a team environment • Ability to apply forethought and critical thinking in decision making • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Proficient in MS Office programs such as Excel and PowerPoint • Knowledge of event management software and mobile application (i.e. Cvent, CrowdCompass, Double Dutch, etc.) • Good negotiation skills • Ability to brainstorm creative event concepts and assist in conceptual design • Takes systematic approach to tasks, able to prioritize as direction is given and work independently • Graphic design skills a plus • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while providing stellar customer service
