Exciting opportunity for talented finance professional to oversee day-to-day finance operations at Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA), a national trade association located in Washington, DC. Under the direction of the CFO, the Controller will oversee crucial accounting functions, including preparing monthly financial statements for the association, foundation, and task groups; conducting the month-end close; overseeing the financial portion of the payroll function; managing cash flow and short-term investments; reconciling accounts; overseeing accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash disbursements, and corporate credit card functions; and assisting with the annual audit and Form 990.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and 5 years of progressive finance experience, ideally in in a non-profit or trade association setting, managing various accounting functions. CPA strongly preferred. Computer proficiency in using MS Office, Dynamics GP accounting software, and CRM4M database management. Good communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to multitask, meet key deadlines, and work collaboratively with others, including employees, management, and members.
