General Summary: Acts as Key Account manager of PLASTICS for purposes of promoting and selling prospective member companies and PLASTICS’ sponsorships. Responsible for sales activities according to established annual quotas. Works with appropriate PLASTICS staff to achieve overall goals and objectives. Requires extensive knowledge of services provided by PLASTICS councils, committees, and special interest groups as well as PLASTICS Government Affairs Team, Trade Shows Team, and Communications and Marketing Team.
Implement and execute sales plan to achieve corporate goals.
Represent PLASTICS at industry meetings and trade shows to promote membership.
Deliver sales presentations in coordination with appropriate PLASTICS staff to potential new members.
Solicit prospective company members through personal visits, telephone calls, and correspondence.
Actively participate in the development of marketing programs with PLASTICS marketing staff to achieve corporate goals. Determine ways to effectively communicate member benefits to members and potential members. Liaison with marketing and other departments to find vehicles for these initiatives.
Qualify prospects utilizing various resources available and maintain an active list of prospects.
Use, as appropriate, current membership marketing tools including prospectuses, Powerpoint presentations, membership kits, regional brochures, PLASTICS member services guides, and materials from PLASTICS Governance Structures as appropriate.
Thoroughly understands the services, information, and “products” provided by each council and PLASTICS. Able to effectively promote, market and sell PLASTICS services and sponsorships to potential new members.
Develop and maintain contacts with existing members and groups to ensure support for lead development, qualifying and recruiting efforts. Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
Establish and maintain consistent corporate image throughout all promotional materials, presentations, and events.
Monitor and evaluate the activities and “products” of the competition.
Submit weekly/monthly/quarterly status reports.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Marketing or industry-related field preferred.
Experience: Previous outside industrial/manufacturing sales experience, minimum 5 years in the plastics industry. Five years of marketing/sales of “services” required.
Telecommuting is allowed.
