Membership develops and implement programs, projects and activities to support the retention and recruitment of PSC members. The ideal candidate will support PSC’s membership function through database administration, recruitment, member services, and membership retention support.
The Director of Membership supports the Vice President of Membership through:
Provides lead support to the organization on database issues and access.
Alters the database and recommends changes and improvements to meet the needs of the membership department as well as the organization.
Ensures the quality of the data and proper use of the systems.
Member Recruitment & Business Development
Organizes and executes managed prospect outreach and leverages the database to manage the prospect pipeline.
Manages the recruitment of prospective members through the recruitment stages.
Creates mechanisms and reports to monitor recruitment progress.
Coordinates information meetings and executes ongoing communication with prospects.
Relays the value proposition to prospective members over the phone and in person, including support to senior staff.
Member Services & Retention
Directs customer service and members services activities including interfacing with other departments where mutual responsibilities intersect.
Works with Vice President of Membership and Marketing to develop membership products to improve member engagement.
Designs strategies and executes activities to improve the membership experience to in support of retention goals.
Develops and analyzes reporting mechanisms to monitor member engagement and coordinates action plans.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Manages Membership Associate and Membership Intern activities and works to develop new skill sets.
Maintains the sales materials, PowerPoints, membership lists, and organizes updates to applications, invoices, etc.
Uses the database to create reports and tools for other departments.
Desired Skills and Software Experience
Three-year’s experience with customer relationship management (CRM) platforms (iMIS a must).
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Understanding of AP style guidelines and a strong eye for editing.
PMP certification a plus.
Must have a Bachelors degree in marketing, business management or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of experience in membership recruitment and retention; non-profit experience a plus.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to relate well to others, both individually and in groups.
