This position is grant-funded and is an on-site position. The Volunteer Outreach Specialist will establish short and long-range goals to achieve eCYBERMISSION volunteer objectives, including those related to volunteer participation and retention. Work with the Volunteer Manager to execute all aspects of judging. Strong internal level of motivation and commitment to inclusion of underserved populations. Travel to Army bases and conferences locally and across the country to other organizations for recruitment of volunteers is required in addition to the participation at the National Judging and Educational Event. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or other word processing and spreadsheets. Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent combination of related education and experience required. Daily management of 2,000 plus skilled based volunteers and volunteer leads. 5 to 7 years’ coordinating and managing a mid-size to large outreach community engagement program in a non-profit organization or equivalent combination of education and experience in volunteer management (recruitment & retention); relationship building within a non-profit or private sector; knowledge of fostering relationships and working with schools, corporations, and professional associations; attending and presenting at large conferences and meetings, and managing databases. Two to five years’ experience in creating outreach documents. Travel required 50-75% per year.
