AAPA is the only organization that certifies CME activities for AAPA Category 1 CME credit for Physician Assistants (PAs). As the Accreditor for PA CME, AAPA's role is to ensure that activities comply with AAPA CME Criteria which include the ACCME Standards for Commercial Support.
About the Position:
The Manager, CME Accreditation is responsible for the AAPA Category 1 CME credit system and the day-to-day administration of the AAPA CME accreditation system. This includes effectively communicating the value of AAPA Category 1 CME credit, facilitating application submissions from CME providers, organizing and monitoring application reviews, managing relationships with CME providers, maintaining the AAPA CME Accreditation website, updating and developing guidance documentation, and evaluating accreditation processes for continuous improvement.
This position interacts regularly with AAPA members, staff, leadership of AAPA constituent organizations, and various CME provider organizations including health systems, other professional societies, educational institutions, and medical education companies. The Manager, CME Accreditation must be able to accurately and consistently support and/or provide information about the PA profession and AAPA and respond to inquiries regarding Academy policies and positions on CME related issues.

AAPA’s Education and Quality team consists of 12 diverse professionals who are dedicated to facilitating, developing and providing quality educational opportunities that empower PAs to advance their careers and enhance patient health. We value teamwork and collaboration across our broad range of responsibilities including AAPA CME Accreditation, Learning Central – AAPA’s Online Educational Home for PAs, JAAPA, AAPA Conference CME, specialty courses, independent medical education grant development and National Health Quality Initiatives on Obesity, Diabetes and Responding to the Opioid Epidemic. Bachelor’s degree required
2-3 years of professional work experience with increasing responsibility
Knowledge of professional continuing education/certification preferable
Knowledge of medical terminology desirable
Knowledge of ACCME accreditation and the Standards for Commercial Support desirable
Good analytic, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in a team atmosphere and support team goals
Customer-focused with high level of comfort providing excellent customer service via phone and email
Detail oriented and well organized
Enjoys solving problems and identifying root causes
Flexible and able to adapt to situations to ensure that tasks are completed
Intermediate/advanced computer skills to include Word, Excel, and web utilities including basic knowledge of HTML coding
The ideal candidate will have experience in project management and planning educational activities—both live and online
