The Natural Products Association, the nation’s top trade association for the natural products industry, is seeking a versatile Team Member for Membership who will call prospective members for membership. NPA, situated two blocks from Washington's Union Station, is ideally located in the nation’s capital. NPA is experiencing daily interest and tremendous annual growth from retailers and suppliers of natural products. Now is an exciting time to help defend natural products by building a stronger membership foundation through calling outreach.
The Team Member of Membership is responsible for executing plans to target new members, implementing a membership retention program, developing new member welcome packets, and communicating NPA work products to both members and prospective members through daily outreach calls. The Membership Team Member is responsible for fostering new personnel networks to target prospective members, maintaining current membership relationships, updating contacts using NPA’s internal membership tracking software, and above all … selling NPA memberships.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Working as a member of the Membership Team to help drive an overall vision and strategy for membership that aligns with overall organizational strategy.
Team Member will close memberships by calling daily contacts in lists of prospective members, discussing the value proposition, and Return-On-Investment (ROI) with them
Team Member will organize and report the lists of prospective members to be called daily to the CEO
Team Member will summarize the members contacted throughout each day at the close of business
Team Member will Assist at trade shows to schedule meetings for the CEO and selling NPA memberships
Team Member will help market the value of NPA by conducting NPA News Videos and interviews of members on the value proposition.
Team Member will help develop plans to maximize the association’s presence at industry events
Team Member will design lead generation programs and track reports and utilize membership sales tools to maximize sales efforts.
Team Member will create membership invoices and track responses from prospective members to invoices through phone calls

Quickly identifies priorities and targets for membership with prepared invoices and calling to sell membership
Uses a combination of phone calls, follow-up phone calls, emails and letters to generate membership interest

Calls prospective members throughout the day based upon time zones, manages multiple projects at once, tracks progress of those calls
Strong phone skills and ability to converse
Cordial, friendly, can converse with members and prospective members to ask them what their needs are

Establishes and maintains effective relationships with members
Gains member trust and respect
Able to learn what our association does for members and communicate that to members
Bachelor's Degree (4-yr college degree).
Be able to use a telephone and communicate the Association’s value proposition to prospective members
Be comfortable in front of a camera to deliver news content on NPA's activities and assist in interviewing NPA members at trade show events.
Experience calling sales leads and closing sales.
Effectively report on activities in the Membership department during daily staff meetings
Overnight travel or travel by car - occasionally, if asked to meet a potential member
