Ranked among the Top 100 Companies to Work For in Orlando since 2004, the Institute of Internal Auditors is seeking a qualified professional to join our team as a Director, Global Development.
This position has the key responsibility of supporting the global growth of The IIA by overseeing International Chapters/Networks and international membership programs. The Director is responsible for managing global and regional development strategies and initiatives, including development programs that support new, developing and struggling Affiliates. Roles and responsibilities include developing and conducting leadership training and on-boarding activities for volunteer and staff leaders of The IIA’s 100+ Affiliates around the world.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Develop and maintain a leadership onboarding and development strategy for Affiliates’ volunteers and staff. Oversee development of on-boarding and training Affiliate leaders, plan and execute online briefings and face-to-face workshops.
Support the growth and development of The IIA’s International Chapters and Networks by acting as their main liaison, tracking their activities and progress, and identifying solutions for potential challenges and opportunities. Develop and conduct programs that help International Chapters/Networks enhance their operations, advance the profession, and serve members with products and services.
Oversee regional development strategies and liaise with internal/external stakeholders in a number of activities such as the development and execution of annual capacity development plans that, among others, include regional research, advocacy initiatives, and training efforts.
Manage programs that support new, developing and struggling Affiliates. Responsibilities also include recruiting Affiliates to participate in mentoring programs, training mentors, supporting their activities, tracking progress, and reporting outcomes.
Oversee to The IIA’s international members-at-large program, such as tracking and coordinating benefits and services, membership trends, and financial forecasts.
Responsible for The IIA’s Affiliate Maturity Model, including updating the content, managing self-assessment tools, supporting users, and reporting on annual trends.
Liaise with other business units and The IIA’s regional partners (ACIIA, AFIIA, ECIIA, FLAI, and UFAI) to ensure relevant objectives are shared and mutual efforts are coordinated such as local advocacy, membership benefit enhancements, and regional capacity development efforts.
Moderate international travel.
Assists the VP, Global Relations & Development on special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Seven to ten years of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
A graduate degree beyond the normal four-year college program is desired, preferably in international relations, political science, non-profit management, international business, or related field.
Association management experience in dealing with high-level executives in a global organization also is required.
Prior international travel, global work experience and extensive knowledge of worldwide cultures and events.
Some background in internal audit is an asset in this position.
