The American Society of appraisers is looking for an extremely organized and attentive assistant to join its fast-paced education department. The candidate must be a self-starter, able to hit the ground running, follow-check lists and above all, they must be able to manage multiple projects at one time.
Areas of Responsibility:
Administer all logistics and administrative functions for onsite (client) courses, university courses and national course sites including ordering, packing and shipping manuals, exams and projectors, printing and packing name badges, table tents, student rosters and any other items as required.
Field calls and emails from students, assist with registration, process rosters, grades, certificates of completion, examination requests, course challenges and retakes.
Grade all department exams and input information into the Society’s database (Aptify).
Assist with general department and other administrative duties as assigned by the Sr. Manager, Education Programming and/or the Chief Operations Officer.
Position Qualifications:
College degree preferred.
1-3 years work experience preferably in an association environment.
Experience with meeting or event planning a plus.
Must be willing and able to travel up to one week every other month.
Excellent organization and communication skills with an emphasis on superior customer service.
Strong advanced planning, coordination, trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a team environment and maintain a professional and harmonious relationship with ASA membership and staff in stressful or difficult situations.
Ability to work independently.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
Must possess a strong commitment to offering an outstanding member service experience.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business procedures.
Ability to write reports and business correspondence in a professional manner and ability to respond to questions from staff, clients, customers and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Skills in Microsoft Office/Word/Excel/PowerPoint and a working knowledge of databases and Adobe are required.
NOTES:
Additional Salary Information: High $30's, low $40's - commensurate with experience.
