A state healthcare association with a strong emphasis on education seeks a qualified Education Manager. This is a full-time position for a highly organized, self-motivated individual with strong people skills. Working as part of a staff of four, this person will manage the association’s education activities, including conferences, seminars, webinars and special events.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Manage continuing education activities, including approval of instructors and courses.
Serve as bridge between instructors, students and the governing Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners (TBCE). Submits course applications to TBCE and other state chiropractic boards, processes rosters from completed classes and provides students with certificates of completion.
In coordination with the Executive Director and the Education & Events Committee, identify and select speakers and sessions for annual convention, regional conferences and seminars.
Distribute, coordinate and collect speaker agreements, course outlines, speaker information and materials. Organize educational content to be used in marketing campaigns,
Plan and produce educational and sponsored webinars.
Maintain education information in the database and on the association’s website. Create, update and maintain education-related web pages and the CE calendar on the website.
Assist in the planning and management of the gala/awards dinner at the annual convention. Order materials, plaques and other awards. Manage the Doctor of the Year awards program.
Assist staff in the planning and execution of conferences and special events. Handle meeting logistics, assist with on-site management and coordinate badge scanning at CE sessions.
Serve as liaison for Education & Events Committee and assist with other committees, as needed. Produce meeting minutes and handle follow-up from committee calls and meetings.
Serve as customer service contact, greeting visitors to the office, answer the help line and respond to member/customer requests in a timely manner.
Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
Minimum of two years of association experience, with background in continuing education and adult learning preferred.
Essential Skills and Abilities
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, experience with desktop publishing software and MS Excel
Some experience in database management
Excellent organizational, planning and follow-through capabilities; attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and manage several projects simultaneously
Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, volunteer leaders, other organizations and industry contacts; tact, diplomacy and good judgment
Positive attitude in the workplace

Ability to travel, as necessary
