This is ultimately a sales position, involving direct contact with the community to convert leads to paying members. But the successful candidate will also have strong analytical skills to help to implement, review, and improve processes across the organization.
Develop and execute recruitment and retention strategies to promote all COMMON membership categories, including outbound calls and emails.
Manage recruitment and retention initiative; monitor and evaluate the new-member experience
Develop and manage list of prospective COMMON members
Develop a strategy to increase the profile of COMMON in the community
Work closely with marketing to develop member sales strategies
Execute agreed upon sales and membership-growth strategies via email and customer calls
Assist in customer service calls
Help maintain the COMMON member database
Develop and execute processes to manage new online community software, including monitoring threads and fostering engagement
Develop surveys to analyze member needs
Write regular reports on member recruitment and retention goals
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, such as business, marketing, or communications, or equivalent amount of relevant experience
At least two years marketing, sales, or business-related experience, preferably with a membership organization
Experience in activities requiring customer service or member/customer relations
PC experience including Windows, word-processing, database entry, and spreadsheets
Works well independently
Travel to two annual conferences per year for a maximum of 10 days per conference, off-site staff meetings as required
