The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) is searching for an Intern in their Meeting Operations department. The Intern would have an opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in meeting planning for a successful city-wide meeting. This is an exciting opportunity to learn behind-the-scenes skills and to assist in the planning for SfN's Annual Meeting, Neuroscience 2019.
Hotel Pickup Review and update hotel benchmarking report on a weekly basis.
Resumes Assist with the proofing and change review process to help create an event
Financials Collect W9s from vendors, enter Order Requests, request master bills, complete credit authorizations, and assist with the reconciliation of invoices.
Exhibits & Registration Be introduced to exhibits and registration. Assist with data management and reporting.
Skills/Knowledge Intern Will Gain:
Room Block Management
Education and Experience:
Completed at least two (2) years of college and coursework in event planning or hospitality.
Good with PC computers and Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Patience and flexibility to handle changing situations.
Must be detail-oriented and possess good organizational skills.
Highly analytical, logical, and good problem solver.
