Innovation drives organizations forward and sustains their place in society by providing meaningful services that anticipate the ever-changing needs of consumers. To evolve its offerings to meet the future needs of dentists, the American Dental Association formed a for-profit subsidiary called ADA Business Innovation Group, which launched its first product, ADA Practice Transitions, in April 2019.
Years of field researching leading up to the creation of ADA Practice Transitions identified a need in the marketplace for dentists to connect for both employment opportunities and to facilitate the transitions of a practice from one owner to another. ADA Practice Transitions is an online platform that matches dentists looking to join a practice with owners who are seeking an associate or someone to purchase their practice. The long-term goal of the service is to support independent dentistry and improve access to oral healthcare in the U.S.
