The American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) is seeking a project-oriented growth-minded, professional to join an agile, collaborative, forward-thinking team as a Program Manager to support the administration of a national entrepreneurship program for early-career doctorate degree holders in science and engineering (S&E). This program engages national stakeholders in the entrepreneurship ecosystem and works with the nation’s most promising innovators. The position reports to the Director of Fellowship and Research Organizations (FRO) and the Principal Investigator of the I-PERF project at ASEE. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and education.
At the direction of the Director of FRO and the project PI the incumbent will, for example: • Manage program applicant intake, facilitate adjudication, and disburse award benefits. • Communicate and enforce program policies. • Ensure applicant and participant compliance with program policies. • Implement, coordinate, and participate in program promotion and recruiting plans. • Validate and test electronic systems developed to support the operation of the program. • Develop and maintain print, online, and social media program content. • Coordinate and occasionally conduct program orientations for program mentors and fellows. • Assist in the preparation of project-related reports, manuscripts, and presentations. • Organize and facilitate national and region gatherings of program participants. • Collect data and contribute insights to public-facing reports and articles that highlight the program.
Education • Undergraduate degree in a science or engineering discipline is required. • Master’s degree in a science or engineering field or business administration is a plus.

Desired Skills • Content knowledge obtained from a graduate education in a STEM field • Basic understanding of high-tech entrepreneurship. • Software: Google suite, WordPress, Salesforce CRM, Microsoft Access.
Required Experience • Min. 5 years managing government sponsored S&E education or research programs. • Min. 2 years coordinating and implementing science or engineering education and outreach programs • Min. 2 years recruiting for S&E broadening participation programs. • Min. 2 years organizing and facilitating seminars and workshops for technical audiences.
Desired Experience • Work in initiatives to encourage technology entrepreneurship among underserved groups. • Participant in a graduate or undergraduate S&E fellowship program. • Work experience in a high-tech small business is a plus.
Duration • Up to 30 months ending Sep 30, 2021. This is a full-time, externally-funded position, on-site in Washington, DC.
