Atlas Management Resources (AMR), an association management company, has an opening for an event planner. The successful candidate will have at least three years of experience planning events for associations, nonprofits, and/or corporations. The staff at AMR currently works with five clients, four national associations and one statewide association. AMR is a virtual office – all staff works remotely from home offices. This position is a part-time position, averaging 15-20 hours per week.
The event planner will be responsible for:
Program and logistics support (such as soliciting speakers identified by the volunteer leadership and continued speaker support)
Assistance in preparation of all related promotional and onsite materials
Assistance with obtaining continuing education credits
Working with association clients to identify and achieve each event’s goals
Ensuring participant satisfaction
Organizing facilities and logistics such as: catering, entertainment, transportation, location, AV, promotional materials, etc.
Evaluating the program’s success and implementing improvements for future events
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Proven experience as an events planner or organizer
Impressive portfolio of previously managed events (conferences, meetings, corporate events)
Excellent time management and communication skills
Sales skills, and the ability to build productive business relationships
Ability to manage multiple projects independently
MS Office proficiency
Bachelor’s Degree or related experience in events (3-5 year preferred)
Must be able to work remotely
The ability to travel within the United States several times each year
