As part of a dedicated and talented Membership team, the Membership Coordinator will coordinate membership-related functions by providing exceptional customer service to members and prospective members, closely tracking data entered into the STS membership database, efficiently processing membership applications, and coordinating a range of other activities to support the growth and retention of the Society’s membership. Directly engages with members to monitor satisfaction, proactively identifies potential issues with Society services, member benefits, and membership application processes, and coordinates the smooth-functioning of essential membership back office operations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate membership customer service efforts, providing fast, reliable, and professional customer service at all times.
Implement membership annual work plans, including generating necessary reports/queries, comparing listings to identify new membership leads, contributing to trend analyses, and assisting with change of membership status requests.
Process and review new member applications to ensure that they are complete; obtain additional information from applicants as necessary.
Generate documentation required by the Membership Committee for the review of surgeon member applicants.
Maintain the integrity and accuracy of data within the Society’s CRM membership platform.
Work with the Finance Department to help ensure the accurate and timely collection of membership dues, following up by email and telephone as necessary.
Collaborate with the Membership and Engagement Manager and other staff on introducing enhancements and efficiencies into the online membership application processes.
Assist with the preparation of materials for meetings at which STS exhibits.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of two years related work experience, preferably in an association setting, is required.
