CBIC POSITION THAT REPORTS TO YOU: Director of Administration
CIS GENERAL SUMMARY: The Executive Director is responsible for overall oversight and development of CIS. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, day-to-day operational oversight of the Society, implementation of Executive Committee and Council actions and policies. Provide leadership to staff to complete actions in a professional and timely manner.
CIS POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct liaison with the CIS President, Executive Committee and Council of the Society;
Attend Schools, Council, Annual Business Meeting, and Leadership Retreat as necessary;
Oversee all aspects of membership application, renewal, recruitment, and retention processes;
Work with Nominating Committee to coordinate and oversee annual Council elections;
Direct administrative and communications activities, including the website;
Direct fundraising and sponsorship activities;
Coordinate and review agenda for meetings and conference calls;
Coordinate and maintain ACCME accreditation;
Coordinate and staff Council and Executive Committee meetings and conference calls including drafting and circulating agendas;
Coordinate and staff Annual Business Meeting including drafting and circulating the agenda and drafting meeting minutes;
Oversee work of staff working with Annual Meeting, Summer Schools, and other educational activities;
Oversee all aspects of financial management including reviewing monthly financial statements and coordinating the annual audit;
Act as liaison with IDF Maryland staff

CBIC GENERAL SUMMARY: Closely monitors all client activities and provides important decision-making information to client and association leadership. Provides professional direction and support for all client activities, projects, meetings, and campaigns.
CBIC POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate agendas and other materials for Board meetings and conference calls;
Supervise day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the association;
Oversee development and publication of client newsletter, examination handbooks, promotional materials and other communications (broadcast e-mail, faxes, mail, etc.);
Attend the annual APIC and IPAC Canada Conferences and other conferences, as necessary;
Coordinate and attend the annual organizational summit with APIC and IPAC Canada;
Oversee all activities associated with the CBIC exhibiting at the APIC Conference, including staffing the booth;
Other duties as assigned.
AMOUNT OF TRAVEL REQUIRED: Approximately 6 weeks per year (between the two clients); some evening conference calls may be required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, marketing, or related area preferred. 5-10 years in association management experience preferred; excellent organizational and communication skills; team player; ability to prioritize varied assignments and handle multiple projects; proficiency in Word and PowerPoint; knowledge of Excel, iMIS and Outlook.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (lifting, packaging, etc.) Minimal lifting required – usually at meetings or while exhibiting.
