Director of Education

Continuing Medical Education

1. Serve as staff liaison for the GAFP’s Education and Research Committee, and works to develop and execute an annual plan for GAFP CME activities
2. Serve as staff liaison for the GAFP’s Public Health Committee, and oversees, follows through on all contract deliverables including billing/invoices with the Georgia Department of Public Health.
3. Coordinate documentation and organization of ACCME records as required for all educational activities. Apply for additional credit through AAFP. Report members’ AAFP credits to AAFP. Ensure compliance with ACCME & AAFP guidelines for all activities.
4. Maintain GAFP continuing education accreditation status with the Medical Association of Georgia by keeping accurate records and complying with established ACCME accreditation standards. 
5. Leads speaker selection/contracting, program messaging, presentation coordination, program execution, and post-event follow up.
6. Develops and monitors budget for programs, activities and publications related to scope of responsibility
7. Coordinate and submit grants to funding sources to fund educational activities.  Responsible for fiscal reporting of grant funds.
8. Collaborate with other state chapters, medical education companies, pharmaceutical companies, and other organizations to offer educational programming to GAFP members.
9. Identify educational programming from the all-member needs assessment
10. Create and analyze online evaluations and prepare post-event reports
11. Ensure GAFP’s continuing medical education program remains a viable option for members to maintain their state license to practice and to recertify for their boards.
12. Works with/supervises (in conjunction with Chief Operating Officer) all related consultants for meeting registration and exhibitor/industry partner sponsorships.

Meeting Planning

1. Plan and execute all activities for Academy CME meetings.
2. Coordinate site visits with site selection contact and make recommendations for meeting sites. Initiate, review, and finalize contracts with meeting sites and manage meeting rooms, food and beverage and sleeping room block.
3. Serve as point of contact for venue staff, and direct GAFP staff schedule/roles at meetings
4. Knowledge of meeting planning including the development of banquet event orders, room set-up, and audio visuals.
5. Track expenses and review event billing for budget reconciliation
