The American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) is seeking an energetic and high-performing marketing, technology & creative talent with proven success in orchestrating the entire marketing process from identifying opportunities through market launch, positioning, customer capture, retention and delivery. This position is responsible for overseeing the Marketing Department and ensuring the proper marketing of AAAE products and services. The successful candidate not only will be an innovator in launching strategies, programs, systems, products and processes to boost engagement, capture new revenue opportunities and expand into new channels but also will be an excellent communicator and effective leader of teams and enterprise-wide initiatives, through collaboration and relationship building with department stakeholders within AAAE.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Works with EVP to manage association’s strategic communications and marketing to promote the value of the airport industry, increase visibility for member organizations and companies, and advance AAAE’s membership and benefits, along with promoting non-traditional lines of business.
Responsible for the AAAE brand, messaging, design, and graphics standards – ensuring the use and integrity of consistent messaging and themes to reinforce AAAE’s brand value, reflect its initiatives, and align with AAAE’s priorities as well as comply with internal and public policies.
Develops and implements research and analyses to assess brand awareness, message effectiveness and audience impact as well as measure the success of AAAE’s marketing strategy and annual plans to drive engagement and awareness of AAAE’s member benefits, programs and services.
Oversees the development of email marketing promotions, automated campaigns, videos, advertising, social media, etc. and identifies analytics to measure success, as well as areas of need.
Oversees all aspects of AAAE’s web properties (aaae.org and microsites) related to content and external positioning.
Provides leadership to develop and maintain effective and measurable communications programs that build member loyalty and attract new members.
Manages current AAAE digital properties to include tracking and resolving open issues, collaborating with subject matter experts to keep content up to date, and planning for and creating new websites as needed, in collaboration with stakeholders.
Identify areas to optimize digital marketing activities and test new digital programs.
Leads development of overall marketing campaign and lead generation to generate interest and attendance at AAAE’s annual conference, collaborating with others for an integrated and strategic effort.
Works with departments throughout the organization to develop marketing strategies and plans annually in their respective areas.
Supervises the marketing and production staff.
Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
Education, prior work experience, and specialized skills and knowledge:
College degree (B.A or B.S.) in marketing or communications.
15+ years of progressively responsible experience, with focus on management experience in marketing and messaging.
Association experience highly desirable.
Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management, staff, vendors, and members in a high-performance culture.
Knowledge of the systems and procedures involved in operating effective marketing campaigns.
Expertise in marketing software (Higher Logic/Informz, RISE, InDesign), membership database (iMIS), analytics and concepts.
Strong project management, product development, strategic marketing, digital marketing, market analysis, and organizational skills required.
