Selecting the right candidate for our Coordinator, Communications position is central to our future growth and success. The Coordinator will be a member of a dynamic team that serves small and large businesses from the U.S. and globally within a highly competitive industry.
This opportunity offers valuable experience in public affairs communications, with an emphasis on press relations, digital content, advocacy message support, speech and presentation/brand support, and magazine production. He/she will assist with the daily management and implementation of the public affairs systems deployed at the Association including but not limited to press release creation, press related website management, and blog and magazine production,.
In general, the following duties may be required:
Support media relations activity on NACD issues, including but not limited to:
Write and/or edit media relations deliverables, including press releases, media alerts, position statements, blogs, tweets, and/or letters to the editor.
Work with our PR firm to cultivate relationships with media outlets and work to secure more stories in the press for NACD and its membership. Schedule interviews and general press activities.
Track media exposure and analyze successes
Write and/or edit Association collateral and support social media content
Manage association data collection process and provide relevant data to NACD team members, reporters and industry stakeholders
Help write speeches and prepare presentations for Executive Committee / President.
Serve as backup support to Coordinator, Communications and Digital Content as well as the Senior Manager, Communications
Assist in developing video content for the Association’s various events
Additional Responsibilities:
Ensure that media requests and member inquiries are quickly addressed as they arise with utmost courtesy and respect and in a manner than enhances the efficiency and reputation of NACD.
Handle general inquiry issues; provide backup social media and website support
Perform other reasonably related administrative duties as assigned.
Limited travel required.
The ideal candidate will possess the following traits or qualifications:
1-3 years experience, minimum of bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, journalism, marketing, or political science
Excellent written and in person communication skills
Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
Media relations experience and/or social media skills.
A self-motivated work ethic.
Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
Ability to prioritize and manage a wide variety of tasks under deadline.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree with 1+ years’ experience in communications or media relations. Total compensation for this position is market-driven and includes direct salary and comprehensive employee benefits.
