The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for all aspects of leadership and management for Alpha Delta Kappa (AδK). This includes, but is not limited to the AδK Foundation, communications and publications, data and financial management, member relations and services, personnel management and training, strategic planning, resource development and marketing. The organization is volunteer-driven and requires an on-site leader who collaborates, maintains organizational stability, promotes innovation, builds relationships, supports a diverse and inclusive environment, and leverages the talent and commitment of the international leadership, members and staff.
Leadership
Oversee organizational operations, build a high functioning, inclusive culture of transparency and communication
Develop positive relationships with the staff, international leadership, members, partners and community
Delegate staff responsibilities and ensure tasks are completed on time
Strategy and Planning
Implement the AδK Strategic Plan in partnership with staff, leaders and members
Develop and manage the annual budgets of the AδK Organization and Foundation along with staff in accordance with the AδK Strategic Plan
Actively identify, pursue and secure non-dues revenue sources
Management
Manage the staff including professional development, performance management, and retention
Oversee accurate and efficient data management
Supervise accounting practices and timely financial reporting
Oversee International Convention planning
Supervise communications and the website
Manage the physical infrastructure
Ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations governing association management
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field required
Master’s degree and/or Certified Association Executive (CAE) preferred
Experience
5+ years of experience in leadership positions, preferably in a nonprofit
Experience in staff supervision and support, including operating remotely as needed
Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining a diverse and inclusive environment
Experience with data management, data analysis and performance metrics
General budget development and fiscal management experience
Experience collaborating with external agencies, organizations and stakeholders
Skills
Demonstrated ability to implement a strategic plan in collaboration with staff, leadership and members
Evidence of workplace innovation, decision-making and problem-solving
Strong aptitude for verbal, written and electronic communication, presentation, and relationship development
Proficient with technology including hardware, software and web applications
Ability to travel 1-2 times per year
